I'll Make Me a World: World Building and the Power of Art & the Imagination

We were honored to open our 2025-2026 winter season at the world-famous Apollo Theater with an evening unlike any other. In a rare and intimate conversation, 2023 Doris Duke Artist Award recipient, two-time Edison Award winner, and six-time Grammy-nominated musician, composer, producer, and sonic architect Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah sat down one-on-one with award-winning filmmaker and writer Kiel Adrian Scott. The visionary twin brothers and Black Genius Brain Trust members engaged in a dynamic dialogue that moved between the personal and the profound. As they discussed the power of art and the imagination, the importance of family and community, and the critical need for infrastructure and world-building in service of Black creativity, the entire room took notes and left filled with inspiration.
