Black Genius Talks: Black Women’s Genius is an Art Vol. 1

In honor of Women's History Month, The Black Genius Foundation and the Washington DC Chapter of the Recording Academy joined forces to present Black Women's Genius is an Art, Vol. 1 — a bold and illuminating panel discussion spotlighting four visionary Black women creatives and arts leaders: Kamilah Forbes (Executive Producer, Apollo Theater), Sade Lythcott (Chief Executive Officer, National Black Theatre), Suraya Mohamed (Executive Producer, NPR Music), and Tamara Wellons (Artist/CEO, Her Dreams Productions) at HQ-DC. Moderated by GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Wayna, these cultural powerhouses offered rich insights into their journeys, artistry, leadership, and resilience — delivering a masterclass in vision, stewardship, sovereignty and legacy. The wisdom and jewels shared throughout the evening illuminated exactly why Black women's genius is an art.
